Stellwagen Bank, Massachusetts - Saltwater Fishing Report
NW Corner of Stellwagen

We decided to fish today in the shoal waters on Stellwagen Bank. It was a jigging day; we didn't use bait at all and we didn't miss it. The action was pretty constant all day, but many of the fish were shorts. It bodes well for next year! We hit fish in several different places, mostly on the northern part of Stellwagen Bank.

Knowing that we would be in shallow water, we geared down--I had the fluke gear out and every fish felt big! That makes the day fun, especially when jigging. We used 6 oz jigs most of the day and had a blast doing it. What perfect fishing conditions! It was a great day on the water and lots of fun.

Bio: I'm Capt. Rich Antonino and I specialize in small private charters in Massachusetts from April-November. We fish for cod/haddock from Green Harbor and Plymouth. We fish Buzzards Bay for sea bass, porgy(scup), fluke, stripers/blues. We love shark fishing and tuna fishing and our boat is perfect for that. It's fast--we cruise at over 30 mph and can hit 40 mph. The boat has a full cabin and more fishing space than most 6-packs! We have a blast.
