Lots of fish and fun on the Beach by Rory Rorison (12/23/2008)
November and December were very busy and fishing has been outstanding. The weather was warm and there was little wind. We drifted several lagoons and lakes catching some very nice Trout. The action was not fast, but the quality Trout filled up the box.

Been very busy the past couple of weeks and have not been able to keep up with reports. The fishing has been great with lots of fish and happy customers. Limits or close to them everyday.
Good day today at the Beach by Rory Rorison (10/30/2008)
For a change of pace we went out a little further than where I have been fishing lately and headed to the edge of the Sound. We made a couple of stops and got on some nice Trout with Campo’s live shrimp under a cork.

We started off near Hopedale fishing with Campo’s live shrimp on the bottom and got on a good bite. The guys put some nice Trout and some big Heads in the boat.

We headed over behind Hopedale and caught the last of the falling tide. We got on a good Trout bite and the kids were having a blast reeling in Trout after Trout.

We hopped around to different areas using different techniques, but could not get them going. By this time the wind had laid down nicely so we made a run out to Black Bay. I was surprised to see decent looking water. Finally the corks started to go down and up to the surface would come a big mad Trout.

We headed to a Redfish spot I like in Oak River where we l started to put some fish in the boat. It was not a fast bite, but was steady enough. The guys put a few Reds in the box and some nice Trout too fishing with Campo’s live shrimp under a cork.

We headed over to a bayou behind Hopedale where the tide was falling nicely. The Trout were eating up the Campo's live shrimp on a Carolina rig. The Trout were nice sized and there were Drum and a few Reds mixed in. We were close to our limits of Trout as the action slowed a little so we went a looked for some Reds.

There also was some Puppy Drum mixed in with the Trout to make the drags scream. The bite would slow down a little the pick up again. With a good bit of Trout in the boat we went and looked for a few Reds.

We started off fishing is a bayou behind Hopedale with live shrimp on a Carolina rig and the Trout ate it up. The Trout were good sized and there were some White Trout mixed in along with some Drum and Heads. The trick was to keep the bait moving.

The wind was whipping and the tide was high. We headed on into the Biloxi Marsh and fished with Campo�s live shrimp under a cork. We made a bunch of stops picking up a few fish at each.

We moved over a little drain in the bayou we were fishing and the Reds were piled up in it. It was blast with Reds going nuts hitting the corks and watching Caled fight them.

The wind was howling out of the north so no way we could head outside. We headed over a favorite fall area of mine in the marsh to see if the Trout were there. The Trout were there and ate up our live shrimp on the bottom of the bayou.

We finally figured out how the Trout wanted the bait. On the bottom on a Carolina rig and you had to keep it moving. Once we did the guys started hauling in some good Trout.

The guys started hauling in Trout after Trout with live shrimp under a cork. The action was fast and fun. The Trout were so aggressive they were hitting the corks. I had one pole set up with a Top Dog and the guys took turns with it.

We headed closer in into Eloi and the water in there the clearest I have ever seen it. Fishing with live shrimp under a cork the Trout were eating up and it was a blast to be able to see them strike in the clear water.

At our first stop the first Trout to hit the box was a solid 5 pound fish. Fishing with croakers on the bottom we put some more pretty Trout on ice.

We moved closer in to fish on the protected edges and got on a few good Trout with lots of throw backs mixed in. We then worked the rocks for a little while where Jennifer caught the Trout of the day.

Conditions were perfect as we left Campo’s. Our fist stop produced some nice Trout along with the occasional Bull Red and Jack.

It did not take long for Jennifer to get things started with a big Red. After that some big fat Trout to came to the boat. Our Trout action was cut short by the Running of the Bulls. The big Reds showed up big time and just would not leave us alone no matter how many stops we made.

We finally found a wellhead that did not have a boat on it and got on a steady bite with live shrimp under a cork. Eventually the bite slowed down so we made a move to a less crowded area and got the Trout going pretty good near a shoreline.

We started out in Eloi and got a couple bites with the Campo’s shrimp under a cork, and on the bottom. Once we had a good box of Trout together we headed out into the Sound to look for some big Trout to add to the box.

We moved over to the other side of the MRGO and got on several fast Trout bites, but lots of small fish. We got on one good bite of decent Trout that was cut short by Flipper. The porpoise moved in to get in on the Trout action too.

We started out not far from the MRGO and got on a good Trout bite with Campo’s shrimp under a cork. When the tide slowed down our bite stopped so we made a few moves and got on a few bites.

We ended up going back to the rig we started out at in hopes that the Reds had moved on. It did not take long to get the Trout turned on and the box was filling fast with big Trout.

We started out in Eloi and got a good Trout bite with Campo’s live shrimp under a cork. The guys had to weed through some throwbacks, but put 40 good ones on ice. I then made a suggestion that we could go find some bigger Trout and they were all in.

We made a stop in Eloi and got on a good Trout bite with live shrimp under a cork. The guys also caught some nice ones on croakers with a light split shot rig.

We made a move to the other side on the MRGO and made several stops picking up Trout at each. The guys had a great time and fished hard. They were rewarded with 125 Trout, 1 Red, and 2 Sheepshead.

The Trout were eating up the live shrimp under a cork, and I joined in on the action with a Top Dog. The Trout were nothing big, but fast and the best eating size, 13”-16”.
