Big fun Wednesday on the Beach by Rory Rorison (7/04/2008)
We made a stop in Eloi and got on a good Trout bite with live shrimp under a cork. The guys also caught some nice ones on croakers with a light split shot rig.

We made a move to the other side on the MRGO and made several stops picking up Trout at each. The guys had a great time and fished hard. They were rewarded with 125 Trout, 1 Red, and 2 Sheepshead.

The Trout were eating up the live shrimp under a cork, and I joined in on the action with a Top Dog. The Trout were nothing big, but fast and the best eating size, 13”-16”.

Kevin made the first cast with a live shrimp under a cork and it was and instant Trout. From there it was non stop till we hit 85 Trout on ice at 7:45.

We started out on the edge of the Sound picking up a few nice big Trout, but the action was slow. We made a move a little closer in and got on some action, nothing fast, but good Trout and steady.

We left the dock around 11am and hit a couple of close spots where they caught some nice Trout, a couple of Reds, Drums, and several Sheepshead. We then worked our way out to Eloi and got on a good Trout bite.

We started out on the edge of the Sound and the guys caught some very nice Trout and some keeper Reds, but the bite was very slow. We made a move closer in and got on a good and fast Trout bite.

We started out on the edge of the Sound fishing with Campo’s live shrimp under a cork and got on a good bite of some very nice Trout. The action was fast for a while, but slowed up.

We got on a good bite right from the start. Campo’s live shrimp under a cork brought plenty of bad luck to the Trout and good luck to my crew.

Once again the Trout were eating up. We even caught a few on Top Dogs for the fun of it. By 8:30 our limits were done.

It was fast as you could cast action at our first stop. The Trout were very aggressive and slamming the Campo’s live shrimp under a cork.

We headed out to the Sound with a well full of Campo�s live shrimp and a few croakers. Our first 2 stops were duds, but at the third stop the guys put some nice Trout in the boat.

At our first stop the guys started putting some pretty Trout in the boat fishing with live shrimp on the bottom. There also were a few big Reds mixed in to bend the poles and make the reels scream.

We needed another 11 Trout to finish off our limits so we stopped back over where we started out and the Trout were eating up. In a few minutes limits were done and the fish box was over flowing. Total take home for the day was 75 Trout, 6 Reds, 17 Heads, and 1 Flounder.

It took a while to find them, but when we did it was fast limits of pretty Trout. They had a great time catching a lot of fish.

We found some Trout at each stop, but never could get on a good bite going. There were lots of trash fish around mixed with the Trout. They put together a good box of fish and had a great time in the blazing sun. Total for the day was 35 Trout, 3 Reds, and 12 Sheepshead.

By the time our limits were filled I had to stand on the fish box to close the lid. It was a pretty day and a fun time fishing with Drew again. Total for the day was 75 Trout (2-4 pounds), 8 Drum, 1 Red, 12 Sheepshead, and 2 Flounder.

The fish box was cram packed with fish and we had a long rough boat ride into the wind ahead so we called it a day and left them biting. The guys had a great time and went home with a cooler full of fillets. Total take home for the day was 50 Trout (2-4 pounds), 17 Heads, 4 Reds, and 2 Drum.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Greg and Dian Cooke of Harley Davidson of New Orleans. They had a great time and put together a nice box of fish.

The Trout were slamming the cast net caught live shrimp we had and it was a blast. By this time the wind was howling and it made for a slow ride back with a box full of 75 big Trout who cared.

A couple of late windy reports from the beach.Day one ended up with 15 Trout, 10 Reds, and 2 Heads. Fun group of guys that great time.Day two ended up with 37 Trout and fun day on the water.

The guys fished hard and put together a nice box of some very nice Trout up to 4 pounds. They had a great time and were a lot of fun. Total for the day was 50 Trout, 5 Reds, and 2 Sheepshead.

We ended up with 35 Trout, 2 Heads, 2 Drum, and 1 Red. Capt. Jonathan worked hard to get his crew on some fish and covered plenty water and finished the day with 15 Trout 13”-3lbs, 8 Sheepshead, 2 Drum, 1 Red, 1 Flounder.

The bite was not quite as fast, but the Trout were a little bigger on average. Once again the Hybrid Flurry 3� under a cork was the bait of the day, but several good fish fell for the LSU Bayou Chub also. After we finished off our Trout limits we made a move and got on an as fast as you could cast Sheepshead bite.

Right from the start they were putting some pretty Trout in the boat with Hybrid Flurry 3� under a cork. I joined in on the fun and by 10am we put our limits of Trout (14�-22�) on ice along with a couple of Reds.

We jumped on over towards Oak River and got on a good Trout bite near Point Finne. Bayou Chubs under a cork did the trick. The bite did not last for long and stopped when the tide stopped, but it was fun while it lasted.

We headed down the foggy MRGO out into the Sound. We headed to a rig that I fished the day before and the Sheepshead and I mean big ones were eating up on dead shrimp on a jig head.

I could hardly keep up with netting the fish. Finally they could not take anymore. Good thing because I think we could have sunk the boat with those big hungry Heads.
