Most trips went well in te past 2 weeks with a few not doing too much due to conditions. Local resident Fernando and his son finally decided to go Swordfishing after catching plenty of Sailfish in the past. What a night they had pulling on 6 fish and getting 2 in the boat.

Mike Damore from Boston came aboard on a calm perfect morning. We were able to do some successful bottom fishing pulling up an Amberjack weighing close to 50 pounds that was off the bottom in over 250 feet. Also in closer we caught a beautiful Nurse Shark in the 150 pound range. This Shark was orange in color and looked like a big Catfish with his big head and fleshy whiskers with no teeth and a large forked tail.

Walt Malone caught his first Wahoo which was very exciting. We experimented with some high speed trolling and withing 20 minutes we had the bite. As we brought this one in the boat the lure had fell back in the water. I pulled the lure back up and another Wahoo had flashed right at the boat. As fast as I could I grabbed a live Tinker bait and attached him to a stinger rig and tossed him over. The Wahoo came out in a flash and slashed the bait in one bite and cut the wire leader without even getting tight on the rod. These fish have amazing capabilities with their jaws as both their upper and lower jaw can move unlike most fish. I have to say that Wahoo has the best tasting meat when its raw. All you have to do is slice it up and dip it in soy sauce and your in heaven!

March has always proven to be a great Swordfishing month. We should start seeing more Dolphin coming through also but you have to move around a bit as they might be offshore a little ways. We are going to be including the Wahoo program on the boat as conditions allow. Heres to hoping you catch the fish of a lifetime. I love this job.
