Sweet Summertime (8/03/2008)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] It's a great time of year to enjoy the calm sea off of south Florida. Nine out of ten mornings we leave the inlet and enter mirror calm seas.
Sailfishing Hot! May 15 2008 (5/15/2008)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] More so then the Dolphin, Sailfish are making a great appearance on the reef. Live bait has been the key for us, preferably the Goggle Eyez.
Run With the Bulls (5/02/2008)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] If you haven't got the word already, big Bull Dolphin are coming through south Florida waters. Catches of fish upwards of 60 pounds are coming to the docks.
In Full Swing (4/23/2008)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] I am finally able to sit down at my pc and write a fishing report. The time keeps escaping me in this busy world we live in.
The bite is on! (2/23/2008)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] The last month has kept the charter fleet very busy. Last week had winds gusting over 30 knots keeping most of us inside. Earler this week it was still windy but fishable.
Sails are up! (1/06/2008)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] That time of year is here when we get to see the Sailfish run.
You Have Permission To Board! (12/06/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] As the northern states are experiencing snow and breezy conditions, our weather has been consistantly nice with temps in the 80's. A few cold fronts have pushed through, I think we actually were 58 degrees a few mornings.
A Bullish market? (10/20/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] For the third week in a row the Mahi-Mahi have been making a good showing throughout south Florida.
Their Coming back Around! (10/11/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] The winds and the rain have let up this week letting us get out to do some fishing.
Savvy a Swordfish! (9/25/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] The evening might be a thing of the past when targeting Swordfish. Understanding the Swordfish will help to land one of these beasts during the day.
It's Coming Around! (9/16/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] This week and next should be great for the Swordfish bite.
Beautiful Mornings! (7/19/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Every morning is quite the same with flat calm seas and the nice morning sun. Bring your sunscreen.
Much better days! (6/13/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] The winds have calmed and the fishing has begun. A few afternoon showers show up here and there but thats usually after the 12:00 hour.
Shes Blowin (5/30/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] The past 2 weeks there has been a high pressure ridge just sitting outside the south Florida east coast.
Smokin (5/14/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] With our Everglades still on fire, we can still see the smoke settling over the entire state. From the water you can see the haze all the way from north to south.
Red Hot (4/30/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Each week continues to be red hot during our spring fishing season.
Its gonna be a good season! (4/20/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Mahi-Mahi are showing up in our waters more and more these days, and they love live bait. I heard of a catch in Jupiter of a 72 pound Bull Dolphin from earlier this week which was great to hear about.
Springtime report (4/17/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Already the signs are showing for a great start for the springtime run of fish. On every trip lately we seem to be catching at least one smoker size Kingfish over 30 pounds, Sailfish, and now my favorite Mahi-Mahi.
Best time of the year (4/08/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Springtime sets it off for the migration of fish making their way north. Already birds are forming the V patters flying that way.
Fishing is getting hot! (3/26/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] March had started off slow for us and then on top of that the winds kicked up for almost a month now. We haven't been out to the Swordfishing grounds but closer to shore we have been having a thrilling time.
Species Report (3/06/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] We have had a pretty successful time on the water in the last few weeks with quite a few different species such as Wahoo, Greater Amberjack, Nurse Shark, Swordfish and a few Kingfish.
Nice week (2/12/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] This past week was the best I have seen the water in what seems a year. We actually had 4 nights in a row with calm seas through Saturday night.
Port Everglades Great Fishing (2/08/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] February has started out great for us catching quite a few more species. Dave Hill of Chicago came down pre-superbowl and caught his first Sailfish. He noticed the rod was bent and sticking that way so he grabbed it and pulled back and a Sailfish started greyhounding on the surface.
Ft. Lauderdale report on the New lattitude (1/25/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Since my last report the weather took a change for the better and we were fishing all over the place. We did at least 4 trips Swordfishing and about the same with day trips targeting Sailfish.
Different fish and weather everyday (1/15/2007)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Now in the middle of January we should be in the middle of it all. We have Sailfish free jumping here and there.
Nice Bite When We Can Get Out (12/27/2006)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] The weather has been playing a factor on our fishing trips for quite a while now. More than half the time seas are not fishable for the past month.
Sword - Sailfish Fishing Report For Fort lauderdale (12/08/2006)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] We fished with Matthew Morgan on 11/28 doing a Sailfish/Swordfish combo trip. We couldnt raise a Sail on the reef so we caught some bait anticipating the bite once we arrived to the 50 line.
The Biggest Game in Town! (11/20/2006)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] If you really want to gamble, come out for a day or night of fishing on board the New Lattitude. Right now the Sailfish are pushing through Ft. Lauderdale and will continue to increase in larger pods as we get into the winter season. Kingfish are showing up bigger than the usual 5-10 pounders as fish over 20 pounds are being caught with the occasional smoker. Mahi-Mahi have been scarce on the reef but that can change from day to day as I'm expecting to see some nice fish show up on the days the northeast winds blow.
Strong Winds Fishing Out Of Port Everglades (11/06/2006)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] In the recent past week we were able to get out 4 times and the weather challenged us a few times. For the next 2 months, we are reserving trips to the Bahamas. We can do same day or multiple days of fishing. The Wahoo bite is going off everyday now over there, we just have to have that weather window.
Octoberfest fishing! (10/18/2006)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] In the first report for October, we started out with a bang and I thought we caught the last of it for this month. But as we continued fishing, the bite continued and grew hotter, going on for almost 3 weeks now. Of course I\'m talking about the Swordfish bite.
Broadbill Fishing Report - October Moon (10/03/2006)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] I was expecting the October moon to have a great bite but not as early as what happened on Saturday night the 1st.
Swordfish bite heating up! (9/15/2006)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] We have had a few good fishing trips over the past few weeks. It still has been slow as far as customers as always this time of year but we still manage to get by.
Fired Up Florida Fishing (8/10/2006)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Wouldn't it be awsome if every rod in the spread went off? That's the sort of queastions I get by my customers on the way out to the fishing grounds. My answer, "It definately happens, you never know what to expect".
"Catching", Not Fishing Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report (7/16/2006)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] We don't call it the tropics for nothing. Almost everyday it has been raining in buckets, but like all rain in the tropics, it's short lived. When your on the water you can see the rain coming and most of the time you can run from it.
Sailfish Are Back Up in Ft Lauderdale (6/29/2006)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] For the past 2 weeks we have had some great action going on. On each trip we are producing Sailfish. It seems they are making their way to the south following the bait. Some are eating big Goggle Eye baits and the others are taking big Pilchards.
Still Catching the Good Fish (6/08/2006)
[Fort Lauderdale,FL] Well the month of May has come and gone and what an awsome month it was for almost everyone. I've heard other Captains say they haven't seen the Dolphin fishing so good in over 10 years.
