Tampa, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report
South Shore

Well the cold weather has officially made it winter, but the fish are still biting. With the last string of bad weather I was unable to run any trips so it was nice to get out and do some fishing. With the tides at an extreme low I decided to hit my sheepshead spot in the bay. After finding my drop off and getting anchor we dropped the shrimp down and it was game on! I was using a ' once sinker with #25 fluorocarbon and a 1/0 hook. We pulled about 15 sheepshead in and a bunch of Key West grunts with a couple mangroves. After a successful bite in the bay we decided to go into Cockroach Bay for some trout and maybe a few reds. It was very slow on the flats we only caught a few and a flounder. Water tempis rising but still very cold.Tightlines!!!!
