Ft. De Soto area has been RED HOT! The Redfish action has been on fire. Look for these schooling Reds on any grass flat with good tidal flow and signs of bait. These fish have had a lot of pressure put on them and are very spooky. Approach the school as quiet as possible, anchor as far away as you can and down size your leader and hook for a better hook up rate. I like to use 20lb Seaguar Fluorocarbon and a #1 Daiichi Circle Hook. Snook are making their move to our area. Look for these fish around docks, bridges and our area passes. This is your chance to get that trophy Linesider we all look for. The big breeding females will be eating heavily to prepare to spawn. Remember, Snook season is CLOSED. Handle each fish with extreme care to ensure a healthy release.
