Tuna Fishing in Venice

OPEN DAYS TO FISH!!!

I was talking to Capt Gray Long tonight and we thought it was funny how some captains try to sound busy, so how is this for Original????? I HAVE EVERYTHING IN MARCH OPEN EXCEPT FOR THE 14TH! And to top that- I HAVE BOTH BOATS OPEN!

We take care of everything that you will need to fish, we even clean your catch at no extra cost and we DO NOT charge extra for fuel!! It is in the price, so now you know exactly what you will owe!!

February was a good month for us but March is empty for some reason. I will let the pictures speak for our fishing! Here is what we ended up with Saturday!!!!

Saturday I had Carroll's crew from Texas down to fish aboard the Looney Tuna, boat fresh out of the shop. Seas and Wind forcasts were all pointing to BAD!! Very Bad!! We left the dock with ten pounds of shrimp in search of mangrove snapper but after being in the gulf, we decided to try for tuna. The seas were at about 3-4 ft so we pushed on! After making it to the spot, the Red Eye and the Mother Load were already on site. It was just us all day.

Aaron and I set up for amberjack and only took about 45 mins to land a six man limit, it was off to find the tuna. Water was blue but we could not seem to locate anything but sharks and kings. Live bait, cut bait, NOTHING!!

A grass line was pushing through so we let the customers have fun catching a few small dolphin when I heard Gary on the Red Eye on the radio say, "We just boated our first tuna and we are hooked up again" ! For some reason, as the green water pushed through our location, the tuna turned on like a switch!! We stayed doubled up most of the day. As fast as Aaron could get the hook from a fish, I would send out another line! It would take about 45 seconds for the tuna to find it then it was FISH ON again. At one point I looked down and two yellowfin and a black was on the deck. Everyone was busy, too busy to put the fish in the box! Not long after that Aaron called me to say, the fish box is full, What do I do?? Clear out the other box, start stacking them in there!!

What a day. Some of the best fishing I have seen in a while!

We ended the day with:

8 yellowfin tuna

9 huge blackfin tuna

6 man limit of amberjack

6 small dolphin

We used everything we could get our hands on for bait. Live bait, cut pogies, king and bonita. They wanted it all!

All aj's were taken on live mullet!

All Frenzy fluorocarbon and Frenzy circle hooks!!!

I am not sure what you are waiting on, The fish are here NOW!! Lets go fishing!

As you read at the top of the post, open dates is not a problem in March!!! We have two boats running, we can get you on the water.
