A couple of late windy reports from the beach. Onboard Sunday were Gary Gagliano, Ray king, Ben James, and Terry Peters. Conditions looked OK as we left the dock, but when the sun came on went the fan. Tried to get out in Eloi and had a hard time getting a good Trout bite, so we bailed out and hit the Reds. Fishing with dead shrimp under cork the guys had fun putting some pretty Reds in the box. Could have had more to take home, but we already had limits of 27"-30" Reds. They did get several slot Reds too. Not often you wish for smaller fish, but it sure was fun. Ended up with 15 Trout, 10 Reds, and 2 Heads. Fun group of guys that great time.
Tuesday I had the pleasure of fishing with Theo Alpaugh, him mom Lili, and friend Judy Deimel. Just like most days this week it was calm while getting the boat ready, but once we got down the MRGO the fan kicked on to high. We bounced our way out into Eloi and the water did not look bad for as hard as the wind was blowing. We found some action at a small wellhead fishing with live minnows on the bottom. The action was not fast, but steady. They had a great time and put together a good box of Trout. I asked if they wanted to chase some reds, but they wanted Trout so we stayed at it they were ready and had plenty for a good fish fry. Ended up with 37 Trout and fun day on the water.
