A week of action on the Beach. Starting with last Sunday the wind was blowing too hard to fish outside so we ran back into the marsh. Had to make a few moves and found a good Trout bite. The guys kept 55 with lots of throwbacks, but it was fun action with a few Reds mixed in. Tuesday and Wednesday were perfect weather days and the Trout were eating up. We ended up with early Trout limits and several Reds in the Sound both days. Thursday the wind was blowing a little, but not too bad. Fished the same area in the Sound as the day before, but the action was slower. Still nice Trout, but the weather moved in on and we had to run inside. We hit a few spots on the inside picking up some more Trout and few Reds while running from showers. It was still a fun day and a nice box of fish. Friday was on the windy side too. Started out in Eloi and caught some nice Trout at each stop, but nothing fast. One of the crew caught and released a pelican, see photos. The wind chased us back in to the marsh were we got on a bite of Trout and some Reds. 75 Trout and 4 Reds made for a nice box and a lot of fun was had by all. All fish were caught with Campo's live shrimp under a cork.
The fishing remains outstanding so come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area. Be sure stop by Campo's for their friendly service, world famous live shrimp, croakers, ice, fuel, and launch. If you want to get in on some of the best fishing to be found give us a call. Check out the photos of the fish our guests have been catching. For charter info call (504)-881-9966 or (504)-887-4960.
