The weather has been a little rough on all of us this spring so far. However, we have managed to get in some fishing and have had some great success. We just recently returned from a long two day offshore trip where Tuna was the main plan. We jigged some Black Fin Tuna on light tackle early the first morning and then we went in the trolling mode. Right off the bat Roland was up with nice Yellow-fin Tuna. From there we worked on offshore a bit and broke off a good fish. Next we actually broke a Sampo swivel in half, never ever seen that before. Then we moved on further offshore and Charlie was on deck patiently waiting his turn and soon enough it was time to go. After a lengthy battle we boat a nice tuna in the 100 pound range. Then very shortly after that we missed a Blue Marlin, or so we thought and it was game on. Mr. Robert (69 years old now) was up and the fight was on. After a two hour battle we managed to safely release the fish with out harm.
It was a great trip by all standards and thanks to the guys for the generous fuel allowance. We are looking forward to their return in a few months. Many thanks to Ro and all the guys for the opportunity to go fishing!
