Great week to be fishing...
We started out the week on the back side of the Full Moon which left us with great tides at the beginning of the week and then towards the middle and end of the week I had to move my trips to the early to late afternoon due to slack water most of the mornings. All of the trips this week did well on Redfish (Pic 1) (Pic 2). The Redfish are definitely showing up in good numbers and are biting well on the higher water. The Snook bite still is strong with more and more bigger fish showing up on the flats from lower Tampa Bay , Anna Maria Island, and south Sarasota Bay. Snook season closes on Sunday May 1st and will re-open September 1st, but have no fear we can still catch them we just can't keep them. This week I was able to get out and do some late evening Tarpon fishing and we ended up getting one to the boat (video) (Pic). The Tarpon were everywhere and I'm sure they are feeding well on the large outgoing tide late through the night.
