If you look at the long winter days we wait for spring. You will see its a long wait for that first report of fishing on the open water of Lake Ontario. With spring comes Brown Trout and with that comes being ready.

Over the winter months I like too examine my gear to make sure my gear is ready. Striping off old line and filling the spools with freash line is major in my book. Having tackle organized sharp hooks and lures that are in top shape.

I like to look over the terminal gear as well. I look over down rigger cable, put fresh planer board tow cable on,make sure all my rods and reels are in perfect condition. check releases to make sure they operate flawlessly, and look over my list of things to do that i made over the summer months.

I keep a very detailed log in the summer month's of issue's that need to be delt with while I am waiting for the ice to melt. No easier way to remember than too write things down.

Hope this get's you thinking SPRING and help's get you ready.
