We went Bass Fishing at Midmar Dam in the Kwa Zulu Natal Midlands of South Africa.
We were fishing the Bass Equaliser Tournament Trail as Team Fishing Adventures. Midmar always causes mixed feelings because you know there are beeeg fish, but you also know it is a tough dam.
So we started at the entrance to Pylon Bay near Duku Duku, and as I put my sneaker down and there was meters and meters of line there which wrapped up around the prop.
Whilst I was sorting this out my partner was into a fish, and we did not even have water in the live well, and so it was a mad rush around and evatually we had the fish in the live well with water and got the sneaker working.
By this time the wind had beached the boat and so we had to get out and launch it again.
We just got of the bank, and BANG, my partner was into a fish, at first we thought it was a smaller fish as it did not fight to hard, that was until we saw it and it saw us, and then we had a screaming reel and the fish took about 4 runs before we got it to the boat. She weighed in at 2.41Kg.
We ended up with 5 fish in total for the day, and one that had swallowed my complete mojo rig had died, so we did not take it to the weigh station, and we weighed in a 4 fish bag 3.8Kg
