Breezy day Friday on the Beach. The gang from Coca Cola met Capt. Jonathan and I at Campo's where four of them jumped on each boat. The wind was calm as we pulled out, but a little way down the MRGO the wind really picked up. The water in Eloi was a little choppy and dirty. The guys put some nice Trout in boat, but had to work hard for them. Hybrid Flurry Minnows in opening night under a cork was the bait of the day. We ended up with 35 Trout, 2 Heads, 2 Drum, and 1 Red. Capt. Jonathan worked hard to get his crew on some fish and covered plenty water and finished the day with 15 Trout 13"-3lbs, 8 Sheepshead, 2 Drum, 1 Red, 1 Flounder. As the day went on the wind blew harder and made things tough, but everyone had a great time putting together good boxes of fish.
The Trout are turning on and the fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding. Campo's is open with fuel, bait, ice, and the newly improved back down ramps are open. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo's is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. Very nice over night accommodations are avalible. 504-439-2680.
