SATURDAY my son Capt. Tim Jr. and myself had a great time fishing the CCA redfish tournament. It was our first time and it was quite an experience as we had a very windy day and rough water as we crossed Lake Borgne and headed for the Biloxi Marsh. With 144 boats entered we had to do some serious catching and thats what we did as we worked the lagoons deep in the marsh with Silver and Gold 1/2 oz. H&H Spoons and had very good success as we managed to land 26 reds from 23 to 32 inches. It was a downer because at one stop we caught 4 reds in a row and they measured 27 1/8, 27 1/4 and 2 at 27 3/8, man that was close as a hair under 27 ins. was legal. We culled all day and at the end of the day we weighed in 2 for a total of 11.74 pounds which put us on the board until the final group weighed in and then we were bumped. All and all it was a great experience and I will do it again. The CCA did a great job handling the tournament and the food was very good. (A BIG THANKS TO MY SPONSOR "RIVER PARISH DISPOSAL" and as you know, "Their Business Stinks But Its Picking Up" ).........ANOTHER GREAT DAY ON THE WATER.
CHALLENGER RODS AND H&H TACKLE HAULED THEM IN AGAIN.
