Orlando Muniz

During the last few weeks we have a weather that is a little extreme for this time of the year. First, we had a pretty persistant rain and then we got what seemed like eight to ten days of solid winds. Fortunately, I still made it out a few times with some pretty decent results. October is usually accompanied with some changes in weather patterns that will soon spark action.

Soon, cold fronts will begin to push gamefish in our direction. One of the popular fish that is already making a showing is the spanish mackeral. Pretty soon these aggressive, hard fighting fish will be roaming most of the bays, shallow wrecks and inlets. Cooler weather will push baitfish further South into our backyard.

Now let's get down to the fishing. Dolphin fishing has actually picked up as of late. Some larger fish have been caught along with some smaller fish traveling in larger numbers. Besides the dolphin there are also some sailfish still roaming the reefs and current edges. The bonito that have kept us busy all summer are finally showing some signs of thinning out. Fishing should continue to improve as temperatures continue to fall. If you are interested in going fishing give me a call. There are still many days open in November.

Tight Lines,
