More wind than predicted out of Delacroix this weekend. The wind and seas did not affect the trout bite. We started bright and early cruising out to my big trout rig armed with nice size live shrimp and a variety of artificial cocahoes. Unfortunately, no one was home when we got there. The big fish wanted nothing to do with our shrimp or plastics. I was a little worried about that when I could not get any live croakers from the marina. Took a short ride to an isolated wellhead and it was on fire with small trout. We had double and triple hook ups on live shrimp carolina rigged and artificial cocahoes tightlined. These trout were small 12-18" with plenty of undersized. We waded through the small ones to finish limits and headed to the edges of the marsh to look for redfish. We picked off 7 nice reds on live shrimp 2' under corks and the artificial cocahoes. These redfish were 19-31" and full of fight. Well the heat was getting unbearable even with the wind so we headed back to the slip. The fishing is really good in Black Bay and Breton Sound right now. Good tidal movement this week so the fishing action should remain good. Good luck out there this week.
