The fast action on speckled trout continues out in Black Bay. We hit the Bay well before the sun came up and it did not take long on the first well head to get a good trout bite going. We caught trout on live shrimp carolina rigged, croakers freelined and carolina rigged and on plastic cocahoes. The artificial outfished the live today and the trout wanted the artificial cocahoes on a 3/8 ounce jighead with the strong incoming tide. We caught a few on the 1/4 ounce jigheads, but instantly got into them with the 3/8 ounce. No big sows today all fish were 12-18" with a good number of undersized trout. The action lasted a couple of hours allowing us to fill the ice chest and get back to the slip before the heat even started. A great day on the water! We did get wet back at the slip while cleaning fish. A thunder boomer erupted on top of us and the rain was blowing sideways with the wind. Interesting dilema while working an electric knife! The hot action continues out of Delacroix. Good luck out there this weekend!
