In the late afternoon we went out to Durban No. 1 Reef and set up for throwing lures for Dorado. I threw 1 dead sardine of the boat and immediatly a Dorado came right up up to the boat and took it. We then re rigged all the rods and put dead sardines out on the drift, within 30 seconds we got the first Dorado on and within in a short time we had 5 rods on with Dorado at the same time. It was hectic with everyone runnig around the boat, keeping lines clear, Dorado jumping all over the show, and then we ending up with some fish on and some fish flapping around all over the boat. It was awesome fun and a crazy time. After about 2hrs we had used up all the bait. With exeption of the first sardine I threw overboard, we got one Dorado for each Sardine in a 1.0Kg box. I lost count of the amount of fish we got but it was more than 20, the lightest we weighed was 5.2Kg (11.5lbs) and the heaviest we weighed was 8.5Kg (almost 17lbs).
We kept a few, and released most of them.
