Extra late report from Sunday 5/20. Some of the same crew that I took Friday was onboard Chris, Gary, David, and Gary. The wind put a little chop in the bay, but not bad. Our first stop in Eloi did not produce much so we headed out into the Sound before the wind would pick up too bad. The rig I wanted to fish was too crowded so we had to go further out. The NE wind made for a bumpy ride, but also helped keep us in a great position at the rig we stopped at. Right from the start the guys got hooked up and in came a very nice 4+ pound Trout to the net. The second fish hooked and landed was a 27" 7.5 pound pig of a Trout by Gary. It was the biggest Trout any of us had seen alive in a boat and will soon be on his wall. Then David brings in another big Trout right at 6 pounds. Unbelievable!! We were fishing with live croakers on the bottom and the action was not very fast, but steady and the size was outstanding. We sat there till the bite completely stopped. Made one more move picking up a few more nice Trout before heading on back in. We ended up with only 36 Trout, but they completely filled a 120 quart box. Lots of 4-5 pound Trout and only a hand full of 2-3's. It was a memorable day of fishing with a great bunch of guys. What a blast!!
