Fall fishing fun on the Beach today. I had the pleasure of fishing today with Robert Penn and his son Mike. Both are good fishermen that have fished in lots of places around the country, but this was Mike's first fishing for Trout and Reds. We started out where the Trout were eating up yesterday and they were still there and hungry. We were fishing with Campo's live shrimp on a Carolina rig, and they also were biting under a cork also. There were shrimp jumping for their lives all over. It was almost as much fun just watching the shrimp jump with Trout jumping up for them and gulls attacking from above, as it was catching them. Once again lots of 15" Reds mixed with the Trout and several 24"-30" Reds. We even had one that tried to eat a small Trout being reeled in. Total catch for the day was 75 Trout, 5 Reds, 5 Drum, 1 Sheepshead, and a great time on the water.
The Trout have moved inside and are eating up. Come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area. Be sure stop by Campo's for their friendly service, world famous live shrimp, croakers, ice, fuel, and launch. If you want to get in on some of the best fishing to be found give us a call. Check out the photos of the fish our guests have been catching. For charter info call (504)-881-9966 or (504)-887-4960.
