Took the Landy to go play in the mud this afternoon down by the river after all the rains we have had, and stopped by a pool in the river which was clean and put my Berkley Cherry Wood 5'6" ultra light together and a reel spooled with 6lb Spiderwire and a small Meps spinner, cast out and as I was retrieving the line went spongy and I thought I had snagged some weed, as I lifted the rod the line went tight and then a lovely Large Mouth Bass of around 1.8Kg (4lbs) jumped out the water and took some line. It was great to hear the little Daiwa 1000 scream and the fish gave me a really good fight on this light tackle. After that I carried on playing with the Landy in the mud for a while and headed home.
Saw some of the locals fishing out there using flying ants as bait, and the one guy got a nice size Barbel (Sharp Tooth Catfish).
