The wind is once again up a blowing and has resulted in some good catches on our fishing trips here in Ft. Lauderdale. We are seeing good numbers of Mahi-Mahi along with Sailfish, Kings and some scattered Wahoo as well. Seems the day of fishing is very much tied in with the wind, and when it slows the catching backs off a bit. But we are seeing reasonable action with that uptick in bites when it begins to blow.

A lot of the action on the Mahi-Mahi and Sailfish is taking place in 300 to 400 feet of water. Clean water, dirty water, little current or a bit more of current hasn't swayed where these fish are being seen out front of Ft. Lauderdale. Nice Wahoos being taken as well, you guessed it, 300 to 400 feet. Very little bait to be found in that area right now and we sit there and look at the water skeptically and apprehensively on the days when it is green / almost tinged brown, and then here they come. Happy to be a part of it all.

Some Kings inside by the reefs and they are scattered small schools and tracing your path back through the area of a bite or two which is of course always a good approach has been a must as the fish are not easily located. An occasional bruiser Bonito inside as well. Again as we mentioned in our previous report we have not tried the bottom much as the bite has been decent trolling and live baiting near the surface.
