The Fishing for salmon/halibut out of Bamfield B.
C. located on the south shore of Barkley
Sound will be spectacular in the summer of 2007. La Parouse Bank located 26 miles offshore is one hour away and is a fantastic halibut salmon fishing area. Of course many people do not enjoy offshore fishing and would rather stay in area where land is nearby and the water is calm. Well we have that to. Barkley Sound is in protected waters where one can fish all day. Close to the Bamfield Harbor are great salmon areas such as Cape Beale, the Bamfield Wall, Kirby Point, Sanford, And Edward King Island to name a few. Salmon are at these spots feeding on the rich bait balls that are found in these spots. Some people are seen on the waters in their car top 14 foot boats while others take care and charter boats 20 to 26 feet. Bamfield is accessible by boat, car and plane.
