Mother nature is imposing her will upon us the last several days with scattered showers and a bit more wind than we would like (canceled our trips Sunday), but today and tomorrow are forecast to be more pleasant. It's not that the sun is absent as there are periods of clear skies, but the norm has been cloudy.
The water color couldn't be a prettier deep blue and there are fish to be had, but we are seeing irregular catches. One day brings multiple Sailfish bites and the next is tough. If there is a pattern it seems to be fish early or fish late for them. Mahi continue to move through our area but once again every day is a new day but the constant there seems to be that when we do locate them it is inside of 500 feet of water, most often inside of 200. Some Wahoo around and they are of decent size. We have a wish list request for one on a charter on the 28th with a repeat customer as we didn't get one the first time. Hopefully we can catch a good one for him like Jennifer's Hoo in the picture.
There are some Kings inside and they continue to be in smaller groups as in our last report and most are of keeper size. The chances for Grouper are better with some Blacks and Gags coming in on the wrecks. That season will close on Jan 1st.
Tight lines and Happy Holidays
