Fun day of fishing Saturday on the Beach. Russ Mahavier brought his daughter Sarah with her two friends Taylor Farley and George Marakas down to the Beach for some Speckled Trout action. At our first stop in the Sound fishing with Campo's live shrimp under a cork they put some pretty Trout in the boat. It did not take long for the Gorilla Reds to show up steal the show. Limits of smaller ones were put on ice and many others broke off and several others were released. It was a lot of fun, but the Reds were tearing up tackle and eating all of the corks. We made a few more moves and caught several more big Trout at each stop. At our last stop we got on a real good bite and the fish box was filling fast. With the heat coming on and sore arms they had enough and cried uncle. Good thing because with the size of these fish I don't know were we were going to put any more. I had to stand on top of the fish box to close it. They had a great time and it was a pleasure to spend the day with them. Total catch for the day was 88 Trout (2-4 pounds), 5 Reds, 2 Pompano, 3 Spanish, and 1 Sheepshead.
The fishing remains outstanding so come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area. Be sure stop by Campo's for their friendly service, world famous live shrimp, croakers, ice, fuel, and launch.
We have a few days open this week so if you want to get in on some of the best fishing to be found give us a call. Check out the photos of the fish our guests have been catching. For charter info call (504)-881-9966 or (504)-887-4960.
