Fun day on the Beach today. I had the pleasure of fishing today with Travis Bousquet, William Lykes, Bob Simpson, and Will Riley. First order of business was a stop by Campo's for their famous suicidal shrimp, before hitting the Sound. Our first two stops produced nothing but Trash fish. At our third stop we started catching a few Trout. They were tight up to the rig and biting very soft. Before long the Big Reds showed up and put the Okuma drags and Power Pro line to the test. We kept 4 of the smaller ones and released a few more. Capt. Frank called me and said that he was on a good Trout bite and that they were almost done with their limits, so we headed that way. Right from the first cast it was Trout on. They were eating up the Campo's shrimp 3' under a cork as fast as you could get it out there. In no time the guys caught their 100 Trout and I got in the action and caught a few also. We left them biting and easily could have finish out my limit too, but we had plenty and the heat was coming on so to the house we went. Total catch for the day was 113 Trout, 4 Reds and 1 Sheepshead. The guys had a great time and will be back soon.
Fishing is as good as it gets. Come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area. Be sure stop by Campo's for their friendly service, world famous live shrimp and croakers, ice, fuel, and launch. Call United Charters now for your next fishing adventure 504-439-1680.
