Fun Friday on the Beach. Ben garrison, Ryan Trott, George Ingrish, and Justin Dekeyser were onboard. We started off with a stop by Campo's for bait then hit the marsh. Our first stop was where I found some nice Trout a couple of days before. It only produced 1 Trout and 1 Red so we made a short move. The shrimp were jumping out the water all over the place. The Trout were eating up both under a cork, and on the bottom with a Carolina rig. Threw some plastic at them and they were tearing it up, both Gulps and Bayou Chubs just threaded onto the same Kahle hook Carolina rigs we were using. Everyone switched to plastic and fish were flying in the boat. The Trout were nailing the bait as soon as it hit the water, or shortly after as the bait fell. Lots of those 15" Rat Reds on the bottom too and there were some nice Reds 20"-26"mixed in to make the Okuma reels sing. Lots of action, one pretty box of fish, and lots of fun had by all. Total catch 125 Trout, 6 Reds, 4 Drum.
Fall fishing is in full swing and the action is outstanding. I have an opening this Friday 10/5, so come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area.. Be sure stop by Campo's for their friendly service, world famous live shrimp and croakers, ice, fuel, and launch. Call United Charters now for your next fishing adventure 504-439-1680.
