Fun with the in laws Thursday on the Beach. Jim and John brought their fathers in law Tony and Paul for a day of fishing. We got a early start after a stop by Campo's for bait. You could not ask for better conditions, no wind and some early cloud cover. We headed straight out into the Sound. We stopped at a rig and it started off a little slow. Fishing both on under a cork and on the bottom we only had a few Trout to show for and a bunch of Hardheads. We repositioned to another corner of the rig and that was all it took. The guys started hauling in Trout after Trout with live shrimp under a cork. The action was fast and fun. The Trout were so aggressive they were hitting the corks. I had one pole set up with a Top Dog and the guys took turns with it. John made a comment about how they would probably hit anything. Just to prove it I cut a piece of white rag put it on the hook under a cork and down it went with a Trout attached. In no time 125 Trout were on ice and we were heading to the house by 8:30 to beat the heat. It was a fun day with a great group of fishermen.
The Trout are on and the fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding. Campo's is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and the newly improved back down ramps are open. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo's is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. Very nice over night accommodations are avalible. 504-439-1680.
