Good Tuna for Fat Girl.
Offshore Fishing Report – Durban – 02 March 2019
Flat seas, light winds, overcast skies. Inshore fishing was dead and the water was not looking a good colour and the temperature was 23.5deg.C. So we decided to head out to the deep where the SST charts showed warmer water and from 400m depth we found beautiful clear purple water at 26.3deg.C and we fished this area right up to the 500m depth. Loads of life all around in the area; a wide variety or birds were seen, big schools of dolphins, massive manta rays, turtles and we saw some very big sharks. Oceanic Bonito were around in abundance and we hooked up and lost many of them when all the lines went screaming but we also managed to land a bunch. We also got 4 Yellowfin Tuna with 2 really nice sized ones that really sealed the trip as a good one giving the anglers a good rev and arm stretch.
