Got a chance to fish with the Old Man again. A few years ago my dad went in the hospital for a simple procedure that changed everything. Long story short four long years, lots of close calls, and a lung transplant he was able to come see me and spend some time on the water. He brought along son in law Richard and his sons Brice and Jonathan. We made a quick evening trip Wednesday and got a nice box of Reds together. The next morning we my brother Stan joined us and we went looking for some Trout. We did not have a lot of time so we stayed close in Fortuna. Live shrimp under a cork helped to put a nice box of Trout in the boat for them to take back to Houston. It was a special treat to be able to fish with the Old Man again, something we wondered if we would be able to do again. Now we are looking forward to more days fishing together.
The fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding and the Trout bite is on big time. There are still some open dates so book yours soon. Campo's is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and two back down ramps.
