Great day on the Beach Tuesday. I had the pleasure of fishing with Stan Broussard and his sons Stan and Troy. The forecast for the day called for 10-15 mph winds and plenty rain. Well the air was still, the sky was clear, and the water like glass. Our first stop was just on the edge of the Sound. Fishing with Campo's live shrimp deep under a cork the guys were putting some pretty Trout on ice. This bite faded so we made a few moves looking for more Trout. The big Reds would not leave us alone. It was looking like we may never get away from them and on the Trout, but at our last stop we hit pay dirt. Here we fished on the bottom with a Carolina rig. Big Trout were flying into the boat left and right and I had to empty my drink box to hold all of the fish. Total catch was 100 Trout, 2 Reds, 2 Drum, and 8 Sheepshead. The guys had an absolute blast and a load of fillets to take home.
The legend continues. Blackie Campo's is open with live bait, ice, fuel, and 2 back down ramps. Come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area. Call United Charters now for your next fishing adventure 504-439-1680.
