Great day on the Beach yesterday. It was another trip for the Renshaw group with Brian, Stan, Chris, and Tim. As predicted the winds were strong as we left Campo's, but usually is with these guys. The wind kind of follows Brian around, but so do the fish. We made one stop around Lake Amedee and that was all it took to over fill the box. It was a blast and you never knew what was coming to the boat next. The Trout would bite, then the Heads would take over, then the Reds would show up, and next were the Drum. Out of bait with no more room in the fish box we ran back to the dock with Drum flopping on the floor of the boat. Total was 70 Trout, 23 Sheepshead, 19 Drum, and 9 Reds. All fish caught on Campo's live shrimp under a cork.
The fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding and the fall action is on. There are still some open dates so book yours soon. Campo's is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and two back down ramps. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo's is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters. Very nice overnight accommodations are available. 504-439-1680.
