I had the pleasure of having Chad Maiuri of the Boot Bar in uptown New Orleans. Winds were pretty stiff, so I gave the guys the option to go fish redfish or trout, because of the possibility trout may have been a little tough. They wanted a box of fish and a sure bet.
Off we went into the marsh and the redfish were there but not ganged up. Stick and move was the order of the day. One or two off each point on the windblown side with dead shrimp under a cork. The fish were really making a commotion as they crashed on our popping corks frequently.
We had to cut it short at 10 am because of their crawfish boil back at the bar, and still ended up with a nice box of 17 beautiful redfish and 2 black drum to boot. This crew had an absolute blast and were a kick in the you know what to fish with!!!
Capt. Jonathan also had a great day as his crew opted to go for trout. They put in the effort and it paid off, as they boxed 50 some odd trout for the day.
