I had the pleasure of fishing with Randy Bayer, his brother Gary, his sister Bonnie, and their niece Alex.
We started off on the edges of the Sound, getting on a good trout bite, boxing some pretty fish on carolina rigs. The winds were steady on the ramp up and we eventually tucked our tails between our legs and came to a protected shoreline that was loaded with shrimp and mullet.
I converted everyone over to popping corks and it wasn't seconds they were going down and trout were being slung over the gunnels. The two kingfishers were definitely Alex and Bonnie! Alex, had tied into a nice fight with about a 5' garfish.
It was no time and the crew had 100 trout chillin' in the igloo and we were headed back to the BSM to beat the heat! All fish were caught on Live Boogie Shrimp both on carolina rigs and under corks.
Fishing down here in Hopedale is beyond exceptional and can be considered as good as it gets! If you've EVER contemplated a guided trip, well, NOW is the time!!! Don't miss the boat and let this summer pass bayou!!
