I had the pleasure of fishing with the "Gravedigger" again for the umpteenth time, along with his buddies Stuart DeRoche and Joe, and their two sons, Action Jackson and Cameron aka "camo". Digger also brought his oldest son Sam who is 8.
Headed straight for the Sound as the forecast was supposed to be near 5kts. I was very disappointed with the seas we were greated with upon entering the sound. The forecasters had blown Friday by a long shot! We were half way out and it was getting nasty so we stopped short. We waited it out for a bit, to see if she was gonna lay down.
NOT.........Action Jackson got queazy so we heading back inside. Tried the back of Blind lake and ALL small fish with no keepers.
I then jumped across to Drum Lake and fished the lee banks and we started catchin' again. Alot of small fish but did have some keepers in the mix. The kids were having a blast as were the dads so we stayed put and weeded some out. We called it a day around 11 with 60 trout in the box and a ton of fun! The dads had so much fun they've already picked out another date, but this time for a BIG TROUT TRIP!
Fishing is ON, ON, ON!!! Now is the time we talk about every single year!! Even on the windiest of days here lately, it doesn't stop the ice chest from gettin' full up!
