Hot fun on the Beach last week. Wednesday I had Jim Walther and crew. I picked the guys up at Jim's camp and off to the Sound we went. We made a stop in Eloi and got a good Trout bite. Once this bite died off we went further out and got on a steady bite on some big Trout. With a few short of your limits and the bite fading we called it a day and headed in with the box stuffed with Trout, 2 Reds, 3 Flounder, and few Heads.

Friday Brodie brought 2 clients from Japan down to Shell Beach to show them what Louisiana fishing was all about, and they had a blast. There was a little wind blowing early so we stopped off in Eloi and found some good Trout at a small wellhead. The wind let up a little so we headed out to the Sound to look for a few bigger fish. We made several moves and never did get on a good bite, but picked up several nice Trout at each stop. The guys also got to wrestle with some big Reds and Drum that gave them a work out. We worked our way back in Eloi and got a fast Trout bite. The action was hot and so were the guys. With 90 Trout, 2 Reds, and a few Heads in the box we called it a day and headed for the A/C.

Sunday I had Charles and his son Kevin, along with Ray, Gary, and Vince. We were greeted by a strong west wind as we hit Eloi. We bounced our way out to a platform where the Trout were stacked up two days before. Well they did not stick around. Without a bite we made a move and found a slow but steady bite. The bite eventually slowed up and the White Trout and trash took over. We made several more moves trying to stay out the wind and found lots of Trout, just not a lot of keepers. Plenty action and the guys did put some good ones on ice while picking away at them till all 350 shrimp were gone. Total was 60 Trout and 20 or so White Trout and Channels.

The fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding and it is prime Trout time. Campo's is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and two down ramps. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo's is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters. Very nice over night accommodations are available. 504-439-1680.
