Nice Trout Friday at the Beach. Onboard were Lonnie Thomas, David and Rick. I was expecting it to be little colder than it was and it looked like the sun might peek out as we headed over behind Hopedale. We started out drifting with plastics under a cork and the action was slow. We made a few moves to some deeper water areas, but could not find a bite. We went back to drifting the lagoon we started out in. By now the tide had stopped falling. Our first couple drifts produced a few good Trout. Around 11:00 the tide started to rise and the bite kicked in. Each of our drifts was rewarded with some good Trout (14"-16"). By 1:00 we put Trout number 100 on ice. The guys caught and released a few more as I put fish and gear away before heading to the house. The Trout started out hitting the Gulp shrimp best, but then the LSU Bayou Chub stole the show. The guys had a great time and were a pleasure to spend then day with.
