What an awesome June! Clients landed 2 redfish over the 40 pound mark and several in the 30 pound range. The majority of fish were in the 20 -25 pound range. When you see people land a fish of a lifetime it makes your day. I have a passion that burns when I am on the water to see other catch these monster fish. Most of the fish were taken on cut bait or live mullet, but we had several inhale top water plugs such as the MirrOLure Top Dog Jr. and the Poppa Dog. Another hot bait is the MirrODine 17 MR. This little bait catches everything. The 17 MR caught big trout up to 5 pounds, ladyfish, blow fish, small tarpon and redfish. The Rip Tide 3 inch mullet is always a hot bait for trout rigged on an 1/8 onuce jig head. The Rip Ride Mullet works best in 3-4 feet of water over grass and sand patches.

There are large schools of redfish all over the flats and when you find them they will eat most of the time. July and August are always great for slot sized redfish and monster "SLOBBERKNOCKER" redfish. Patience is vey important when fishing the big reds. Sometimes they eat everything and other days it can take time to catch one. Once you do it will be worth the wait. Come on down to Florida and catch that fish of a lifetime.
