LATE HOPEDALE REPORT!!
Sorry for the lack of
reports, as I've been at the camp for a work detail
and a week of bow hunting whitetails, harvesting
the first venison of the season.
Saturday, I had
the pleasure of fishing with Ralph Kastner of Volvo
Rentals (formerly TUFF EQUIPMENT). He brought
along his #1 salesman, uncle Raymond and his
better half, Ms. Brenda. Also his #1 client Mr.
Charles and his wife Harri.
Off the bat the two
ladies hung into a couple of giant jackfish. They
insisted on landing the brutes, so they fought
them for over an hour and to the point of
exhaustion. Brenda landed hers first, photoed,
and released. But unfortunately Harri's
straightened the hook and got off 15 minutes
later. We fished hard all over Eloi scraping up 33
trout. By 11:30 am, I told them it was best to
throw in the towel with the trout and go after a
few reds to finish off the day.
Definately a
good move on our part! The reds were highly
cooperative, exploding on the corks! We bounced
a couple of drains and picked up their 25 redfish
limit, then called it a day. Headed back with 33
trout, 25 redfish, and 3 drum.
Harri couldn't
get over the fish and said she's NEVER got into
them like that before!
All fish were caught on
Live and Dead Boogie Shrimp under corks, with
FINS Premium Superline and on H and H Custom
Rods.
