Late report for Sunday from the Beach. When Jamey Sandefur (Sandman) and his dad Doc met me at Campo's the conditions were about as bad as it gets. The front had roared through hours before and left behind a very cold 20-25+ NW wind with a hard falling tide. We started off around Hopedale Lagoon fishing with live shrimp under a cork. With the hard falling tide there was too much current to fish in the bayous or passes. We drifted starting from the lee shore and picked up a few Trout on each drift. Nothing fast with plenty throwbacks, but it was the only action we could find. The keeper Trout were very nice and there was one lost Trout that was good 4 pound fish. Jamey hooked up with and landed a big Red that was released after a photo. The guys fished hard and were rewarded with 36 Trout, 4 Sheepshead, 1 Red, and 1 Drum. It was a tough weather day, but the guys had a good time and it was nice to finally get to meet Sandman.
