Late report for Thursday from the Beach. I had the pleasure of fishing with Wayne Felder and his wife Beth. They are a super nice couple that has done a lot of fishing around the world. Once again the NE wind was blowing so off into the Biloxi Marsh we headed after a stop by Campo's for bait. We started out where I ran into some good fish the day before and they both immediately were hook up. Trout, Reds, Drum, Sheepshead, Flounder, you name it they caught it. We had tons of action all day long, but did have a problem finding keeper Reds. There was no way I could keep a count of all the 14"-15" Reds and Drum we caught and released. They may have been small, but they were very aggressive and a blast to catch. They had a great time and filled the box with some fine eating fish. Total catch was 35 Trout, 4 Reds, 7 Drum, and 9 Sheepshead. All fish caught on Campo's live shrimp under a cork.
We ran into Capt. Frank's brother Harry and Butch while out in the Biloxi Marsh, and they had a great catch with 45 Trout and 10 Reds. They ran into a good school of Reds. They had many that they released (too big), and lots of popped lines. Sounds like fun.
The fishing remains outstanding even with the strong winds, so come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area. The Trout are showing up more and more everyday on the inside and there are still plenty of the big Trout outside when the weather cooperates. Be sure stop by Campo's for their friendly service, world famous live shrimp, croakers, ice, fuel, and launch. If you want to get in on some of the best fishing to be found give us a call. Check out the photos of the fish our guests have been catching. For charter info call (504)-881-9966 or (504)-887-4960.
