Late report from last week with Jim Walther. I picked Jim and his friends Clint and Bucky from Jim's camp. Armed with Campo's live shrimp and croakers we headed over to an island in Machias that has been holding some good Trout. The guys put a few in the boat, but never could get them going. From there we headed all over Black Bay picking up one or two here and there. By now we were running low on shrimp, but had a ton of croakers. We needed to find some croaker hungry Trout. We made a stop near Battledore and found the big Trout we were looking for. Only problem was the Reds were thick. One Red even ate two baits and had both hooks from Clint and Bucky in his mouth. The guys put some nice Trout in the box between Redfish assaults. Out of bait we headed to the house with 70 pretty Trout, 2 Reds, and 1 Head.
The fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding and the best fishing time of the year is just ahead. The Fall fishing in Shell Beach is as good as it gets. I still have some open dates in September and October. Campo's is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and two back down ramps. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo's is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. Very nice over night accommodations are available. 504-439-1680.
