Lots of big fish Saturday at the Beach. I had part of a large bachelor party group. On my boat were Jason, Glen, Steve, and Mike. The weather was very nice and the tide was low and falling hard. We started out in the Lake Robin area. Fishing with Campo's live shrimp under a cork the guys started outing some very nice Trout in the boat. The action was not that fast, but the quality of the Trout more than made up for that. There were a bunch of Rat Reds mixed in with the Trout and a few keepers too. After this bite died out we made a bunch of moves and never could get on another good Trout bite. Headed over towards Oak River and got on a good bite of some fun hard fighting fish. Fishing on the bottom with a Carolina rig it was as fast as they could get them in the boat action. Drum, Sheepshead, Reds and a few more Trout filled up the fish box fast. The Okuma reels and Power Pro line got a heck of a work out, and the guys had a blast. Total catch for the day was 50 Trout, 30 Sheepshead, 12 Drum, and 8 Reds. The guys were treated Capt. Frank's fried Sheepshead while the rest of their catch was cleaned.
The weather has been great and the fishing has been outstanding. Come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area. Be sure stop by Campo's for their friendly service, world famous live shrimp, ice, fuel, and launch. If you want to get in on some of the best fishing to be found give us a call. Check out the photos of the fish our guests have been catching. For charter info call (504)-881-9966 or (504)-887-4960.
