I just thought I'd take this opportunity to let everyone know about the changes in the New York State DEC Regs. that will affect everyone this year that will be fishing the Hudson River for the "spring run striped bass". In the past there was no licenses needed to fish the river up to the Troy dam. All of that changed as of Oct.1, 2009. Now if you are over the age of 16 you will have to have a NY. State fresh water fishing license, and in addition to that if we are targeting a migratory such as "Striped Bass" we all will have to have a "Migratory Species Permit" just another name for a salt water fishing license. Check out our website on the "Charter Info. Page" www.angcharters.com If you don't already have these licenses you can use the link provided on our site and get the licenses on-line, or at any NY State vender, (sporting goods stores etc.) Also available for our out of state friends.
It's a fairly simple deal and they can be purchased for one day, one week, or a full year, at an affordable fee. Check the website out.
This seasons the Hudson River Fisherman's Assoc. will be sponsoring a $100,000.00 tournament for the largest striped bass OVER 50 Lbs. The dates of the tournament April. 17th&18th our boat will be available to charter for this event. All passengers must be entered. Over the years we've had some very large fish on the boat. You can get all the info for the event at www.hrfanj.com
So far this winter we've very little snow (up hear) this can be a good thing, as the early spring run-off should be light. I think we will have prime water temps and color for the 2010 season. Hoping to have you onboard this season.
