Okies hit the Beach last Friday. Terry Stupp, my rod supplier from Oklahoma was in town for Jazz Fest and he brought Kristie and Sheila down for some fishing fun. The wind was blowing pretty good and the water was very low. We started out in a semi protected area on the edge of Breton Sound. The bite was a little slow, but the Trout were very nice. We worked the area with Campo's live shrimp 3' under a cork and they put a nice bunch more on ice before the bite slowed. We moved closer in toward Oak River Bay and got on a good bite on a lee shore. There were a lot of Sheepshead in the area and they had a lot of fun with those. The wind died down some and we hit an island on the edge of Black Bay and got on a steady bite of some really nice sized Trout. My crew was worn out and had a great time boxing 50 Trout, 31 Heads, and 6 Reds.
All fish in the Suzuki powered Blazer Bay were caught with Campo's dead bait on Capt. Rory's United Charters custom rods provided by CUI Products with Shimano reels, spooled with Power Pro line. All fish removed and boxed with the one and only Just Grab it Glove.
Spring action is here. The big Reds and Heads are eating up at the outer rigs and this is a great time to load the boat with big hard fighting fish. The Trout have showed up in the outer bays and Campo's has live shrimp that the Trout are eating up. The books are filling up fast, don't miss out on the fun. Call now to book your trip of a lifetime. Overnight accommodations on the bayou are available.
