Our last season before lockdown
Offshore Fishing Report – Summer 2019/2020
Lockdown has been really difficult, at first you keep yourself busy with many projects but eventually you run out of materials and after 8 weeks I find myself highly frustrated, perhaps even a bit angry and definitely concerned about what is going on. I am missing the ocean, I am missing fishing, I miss my family, my friends, my crew, my boat and the list goes on. We had a great summer season that was suddenly ended so abruptly and so hopefully we can be fishing before the next season begins.
One need’s to remain strong in these difficult times and perhaps it is a good time to reflect and be grateful for what we have had until now.
This last season started early with an abundance of small Dorado and a few decent sizes in between, the Wahoo had just started showing up when we had to go home and wait, the Yellowfin Tuna were rather scarce this season and only just started showing up. The Marlin had arrived and we had a lot of action in February some good strikes and 5 Black Marlin released, 4 of them happened over 2 days making for some of the most exciting Marlin fishing off Durban. We never even got to finish March and April never happened and it looks like May also won’t happen, the summer season has however ended and winter season is upon us. I hope to see you out on the water before the next summer season. We have redone most of our website, check it out.
Stay Strong. Stay Safe.
