There is no need to go the 30 miles outside to find the Halibut at this time of year. There are plenty to go around right out in Chatham Sound. The Herring have come and gone on their yearly spawning ritual but the huge Halibut that followed then to shore are still here. I love to set my anchor and bait them in but we had such a lucky streak with the jiggs that I use them every day now with great success. Drifting close to shore in less than 70ft of water is the ticket. My last crew had a rare day of sunshine and small tides. Drifting along and hammering on the 60 to 80 pounders with rods in hand will be something my crew will never forget. The Orca Mist is a 30 ft cruiser with lots of deck fishing room. Prince Rupert is located between the second and third largest rivers in British Columbia.

Come out and enjoy a day on the water fishing and Crabbing.

Bio: Prince Rupert fishing charters guide for 25 years. We specialize in catching large and aggressive Salmon and Halibut. Welcome to the Deep Spring Charters home page. My company specializes in catching large and aggressive Salmon and Halibut. These are not our only targets though. I love seeking out Ling cod, Snapper and Rock fish where they live. These fish are not safe when I am on the water. It is not uncommon to have all my fish coolers filled to the top by the end of the day. I call this food gathering.
