Report for the John Kellum group from the beach. John brought his sons down for a day of Trout fishing. We started off in Bay Eloi and bounced around a few rigs picking up a few fish here and there, but lots of small fish junk would not leave us alone. With the winds calm and the water slick we hit the Sound and fished a few on the deeper rigs. Here we got on a good bite of some big Trout with Carolina rigged Campo's live shrimp. The bite slowed down so we moved on over to the shaded side of the rig and got on the Trout again. The guys kept my busy netting fish one after the other till all the bait was gone. Good thing because we had not room in the boat for more fish. 81big Trout, 1 Flounder, several Spanish and Heads made for a fun time on the Beach and lots of fillets to go home.
The fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding and the Trout bite is on big time. There are still some open dates so book yours soon. Campo's is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and two back down ramps.
