Spent the last few days in a very heavy driftboat. Three people is always tough and then add in a whole bunch of snow, wind and cold and you have a serious chozen frozen fishing excursion.
Howard, his son Corey and friend Ken joined me again this winter for another float down the salmon river. Last year was incredible for them with lot's of fish and Howard landing one well over 15 pounds. Could they repeat last year?D
Day one we had them going pretty well. We fished 9 places and took fish in 7 of them Browns and steelhead with a mix of fresh and dark fish.
Day two would be different for some reason as we hit a few right away and then struggled until late in the day when we found four fish in the next to the last spot. All in all a great time with some great guys.
Thanks again and see you soon.
Howard was hot landing three in the first spot of the day.
Corey took browns both days.
Ken pulled it out at the end each day.
All of the fish came on pink and blue egg sacs under floats.
Water is 750 but will change soon I am sure. A lot of fish in all the deep holes. Real busy in the upper river again as there is no sign of a recession on the river. Lot's of people for the middle of winter!
